This is how i achieved my fitness goals.
I want to share with you how I lost 15 pounds in one month! Before I begin let me give you a little background.
Before getting into it, Top scientists finally reveal the true reason why you’re struggling to lose weight: Know here.
I am a 56 year old male. Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 1996 I have never adhered to any kind of strict diet or exercise routine. Oh, I took my daily medications, but refused to see a doctor on a regular basis simply because I had no medical insurance. I guess I thought that one little pill I took daily was going to magically control my diabetes.
During the past couple of years or so I began to notice some serious changes to my body. My legs would ache and cramp at night, making a good night's sleep nearly impossible. Worse yet, I developed a retinopathy in my right eye that continued to progress up to the point of forcing me to give up my job late in 2007. I just could not see the computer screen or paper work that needed to be meticulously followed.
Finding myself sitting at home all day led me to pick another bad habit. Snacks! Potato chips were my biggest downfall. I would go through three or four large bags of chips per week. Cookies and milk before bedtime was another favorite. And mealtime meant at least two huge plates, each rounded full with the three main food groups...meat, potatoes and gravy! Salads were for sissies!
My weight ballooned to over 230 pounds. Now, I am only 5' 8" tall, so 230 pounds was way out of line. My wife urged me to find some kind of safe and effective weight loss plan and even promised to participate with me, though she really did not need to lose any weight. Of course, I refused to give in.
Here is what changed my mind and finally got my attention. While going through my desk, looking for some tax papers, I came across my glucose monitor that I had filed away. I thought if I kept it hidden no one would know how high my glucose reading was and I could keep eating those delicious barbequed potato chips! I pulled out the meter and checked my reading. It was 493! For those of you that do not have diabetics in the family, anything over the 135 range is serious. I was in the real danger zone.
Realizing that I had to at least get my glucose under control, I broke down and scheduled a visit with my doctor. After a series of lab tests it was determined that I was worse off than I thought. Besides high blood sugar levels, high blood pressure and diabetic neuropathy in my legs my kidneys were leaking protein. I had to take action and it had to be immediate.
I began a walking routine twice a day. At first I was only able to walk about 1/2 mile at a time. While this made me feel good, I knew I needed some quick diet help, too. I began searching the internet for the best fat loss ideas and ran across one called FatLoss4Idiots. Figuring that I must have been the idiot they were talking about I bought it. It was a simple plan that used something called calorie shifting to speed up your metabolism. I got to eat four or five times per day with their plan, so that part was great for me. To my surprise, I was never hungry!
Now, when I first went to the doctor I weighed in at 233 pounds. Of course, Old Doc wanted to see me again in 30 days to run a few tests to check my kidneys. The first thing the nurse said was, "Wow! How did you lose that weight?" I was down to 217 pounds! This, after just 30 days of walking and following the diet plan from FatLoss4Idiots. Maybe I wasn't as big an idiot as I thought.
I am still on the routine, some six months later. My walking distance is over 30 miles per week and my glucose readings average 105. Oh, about that weight! I now weigh in at a stealth 185!
That is how I lost 15 pounds in one month. Hopefully, you will not wait until a serious illness forces you to take action. If you need to lose 10, 15 or more pounds, just remember it all starts with the first step. Find a good diet, stick to it and start walking! I am living proof that it works.
