1. Start a diet which boosts your metabolism instead of one that slows it down.
This tip is so essential and that's why it's the very first one. Most diets actually slow your metabolism because they only allow for a very small amount of calories each and every day. This makes the body thinks it's starving to death and in response it slows down it's fat burning so that it keeps some of that fat around to live off of. Of course this is exactly the opposite of what you want to happen.
2. Exercise regularly including strength training.
I know you didn't want to hear this but it's true. Exercise is a very important part of losing weight quickly. And I think it's very important that you don't settle on just doing cardio. If you really want to lose weight fast (and to keep it off permanently) then you will want to start strength training. This goes for both men and women! And make sure you train with enough weight that it really pushes you. Less reps with more weight is preferred to using a low amount of weight and doing a lot of reps.
3. Eat as much fiber & protein as you can stand.
It's important not to start a diet where you are just counting calories. Instead you need to change the things you are eating (not only eating less of the things you usually eat.) The big keys to healthy eating (and feeling fuller on less calories) is eating as much fiber and as much protein as you can stand. Protein is especially important if you are following tip #2 and including strength training in your exercise regimen.
